Just look at that cheese pull!! SO good!! This delicious dish is called ‘Texas Trash dip’.. now no – I did not come up with that. The regular recipe usually calls for beans but I instead decided to use BACON.
Now let’s talk cheese – regular trash dip calls for monterey jack – but I decided to use a spiced cheddar for ultimate stringiness. The kind I used was a Mediterranean white cheddar but you can use any kind of cheese really, but cheddar and mozzarella are good to get that nice string of cheese.
What you’ll need:
- 8oz cream cheese
- 1 cup (8oz) sour cream
- 6 slices of bacon – cooked
- 2 chillies – chopped
- 1 cup (100g) cheddar cheese – grated
- 1 1/4 cup (140g) spiced cheddar cheese – grated
- 1/2 tsp chilli pepper
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp parsley
- 1/4 tsp garlic
In a pan, heat up your cream cheese and sour cream until smooth and easily spreadable.
Stir in your bacon, chillies and spiced cheddar cheese.
Once your first batch of cheese has melted, add in your spices. Then stir in your second batch of cheddar. Heat until it has melted!
Voila! Done. Easy as pie. Serve hot!
